Kuntanase (Ash), March 2, GNA – Mr Stephen Asamoah-Boateng, the Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Environment, has asked district assemblies to formulate pragmatic and aggressive revenue mobilization strategies to help increase their revenue base. He said it was important for all stakeholders in the district assemblies to work as a team to realize their vision of improving the living conditions of their people.

Mr Asamoah-Boateng made the call at a meeting with staff and assembly members of the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District as part of his visit to the Ashanti Region.

He called for unity among members of the assembly to promote development.

Mr Bright Addai-Mununkum, the District chief Executive, said 236 youth had been engaged in the Youth in Employment Programme in the district.

He said the assembly was looking for funding to plant Jetropha to protect the degraded slopes along Lake Bosomtwe and also use the plants to produce fuel for domestic use.
