Corpse found lying close to Akwatia bridge

Akwatia, Feb. 28, GNA – The Akwatia Police are investigating the death of an unidentified man believed to be in his mid 50’s, whose corpse was found lying in the bushes near the bridge over River Abansasu at Akwatia in the Eastern Region.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Akwatia, District Commander of Police, Deputy Superintendent of Police Owusu Boampong said at about 0930 hours on February 22, 2007 he was informed about the corpse and asked personnel of the Criminal Investigations Department to investigate the cause of the death.

The body has been deposited at the St. Monica’s Hospital mortuary pending autopsy.
