Driver’s mate granted bail for careless driving

Twifo Praso (C/R) Feb. 16, GNA – The Twifo Praso District magistrate court has granted Kweku Oppong, a 24-year-old driver’s mate, 20 million cedis bail for careless and inconsiderate driving, negligently causing harm and driving without a license.

Oppong, who pleaded guilty, had his sentence deferred to February 27 to enable the police to furnish the court with the condition of one Mr Yakubu Mohammed who got injured in the accident.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector George Okine told the court that on January 27, Oppong took advantage of his master’s absence to drive his vehicle.

He said Oppong, who was driving from Twifo Anyinase towards Twifo Praso, veered off the road and ran into a ditch injuring Mr Mohammed.
