WAPO hands over rehabilitated school

Dwomo (W/R) Feb. 8 GNA- The West African Gas Pipeline Company (WAPCO) limited on Wednesday handed over a rehabilitated block of three classrooms to the Dwomo Methodist Junior Secondary School (JSS) near Inchaban.

The project, which cost 257 million cedis, included expansion works and electrical installations.

Mrs Harriet Wereko Brobby, General Manager Corporate Affairs of WAPCO, at the handing over ceremony, said the rehabilitation work formed part of the social responsibility of the company and appealed to the community to take good care of the facility. She said the company could not satisfy all the requirements of the community but pledged that management would do everything possible to assist the people.

The Very Reverend Emmanuel E. Walters, Western Regional Manager of Methodist Schools, advised the people against desecration of schools buildings, a problem that according to him was associated with some communities.

Rev. Walters appealed to the students of the school to take advantage of favourable conditions being offered schools by individuals, organisations and government to learn hard to enable them pass their examinations.

He urged the people to unite for the development of their communities.

A-400 metre storm drain project at Aboadze, valued at 719 million cedis, being funded by WAPCO is progressing steadily.

A block of six classrooms, office, staff common room, and toilets, valued at 850 million cedis for the Abuesi Community Methodist JSS is expected to be complete by the end of the month.
