Sunyani, Feb. 7, GNA- Seidu Ziblina, a 26-year old watchman of SETMART Company Limited in Accra suspected to have together with two others now at large robbed the company of 250 million cedis has been arrested by the Sunyani police.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Kwaku Ayensu Opare Addo, Brong Ahafo Regional Police Commander told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that on January 2 this year, the complainant, who deals in computers and vehicles, withdrew the said amount from a bank in Accra to be changed into dollars, but the person in charge of such transactions at the company did not turn up for work that day.

On his way to Sunyani Seidu invited his wife to meet him at Jato Nkwanta, a village in the Sunyani municipality for the items.

The Police Commander said the complainant on discovering that the money had been stolen reported the theft to the Legon police and upon a tip off proceeded to the village with the police.

He said on seeing the police and the complainant, Seidu took to his heels into a near-by bush but he was chased and arrested.

The police have so far retrieved 98 million cedis, three passports and a mobile phone from Seidu who upon interrogation admitted the offence and mentioned the name of one Alhassan and a taxi driver as his accomplices.

DCP Opare Addo appealed to the public to assist the police to arrest the accomplices.
