Kadjebi (V/R), Feb. 1, (credit Baba Sadiq stringer no. 341), GNA – A Network of Community Development (NOCID) made up of identified social groups and communities in the Kadjebi district, has been formed to facilitate development.

The network, initiated by the Action Aid International, Ghana, consists of eight traditional areas, a group of People Living With HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) and two representatives each from twelve communities in the district.

Mr Kwesi Ohemeng-Agyei, Programme Manager of Action Aid, told the Ghana News Agency at a workshop in Kadjebi that the Network was a strategy at bringing the communities and groups together to find a common ground for addressing issues relating to their development. It was also designed to ensure ownership and sustainability of projects and tackle injustices and inequalities in the communities, he added.

Mr Ohemeng-Agyei said as part of its programme, Queenmothers would be encouraged to rally women in their communities together for education on their rights while PLWHAs in the district would be empowered to champion their rights.
