6.2 billion cedis for Sepaase-Ntensere road

Hiawu-Besease (Ash), Jan 29, GNA – The government has voted an amount of 6.2 billion cedis towards the surfacing of the 7.9-kilometre stretch of feeder road from Sepaase though Besease to Ntensere in the Atwima-Nwabiagya district.

Mr Thomas Ofori-Donkor, the District Chief Executive announced this at a meeting with the chiefs and people of Hiawu-Sepaase. He noted that surfacing of the road network, which had hitherto been in a deplorable state, was necessary to facilitate the evacuation of cocoa and foodstuffs from the area.

The DCE also announced that the district assembly had concluded arrangements to complement the efforts of the community in the construction of a six-classroom block, an office and store. Mr Moses Ampong, unit committee chairman of the town, appealed to the assembly to build a new canoe for the town to facilitate the crossing of the Offin river.

He also called for the demarcation of the school lands to ward off encroachers.
