Atwima-Mponua commence activities marking Ghana@50

Nyinahin (Ash), Jan 20, GNA – The Atwima-Mponua District Assembly, in collaboration with the chiefs and people, have embarked on a commemorative tree planting exercise in some schools and communities to commence activities marking the Ghana@50 celebrations in the district.

In addition to 500 trees to be planted under the exercise, the district will also construct jubilee recreational parks at Nyinahin and Mpasatia.

Mr Wilberforce Owusu-Ansah, the District Chief Executive, said this when he met heads of decentralised departments in the district at Nyinahin at the weekend.

He appealed to communities not to politicise the anniversary and get involved in all its activities to make the occasion a memorable one. Mr Owusu-Ansah appealed to the people to organise periodic clean-up exercises and that the assembly had purchased refuse bins that would be placed at vantage points.
