Health directorate presents generator, television to clinic

Sreso-Tinpom (Ash), Jan. 19, GNA=96 The Atwima-Mponua District Directorate of Health has presented a generator and 21-inch colour television set to the Sreso-Tinpom Health Centre. Mrs. Belinda Baffoe-Bonnie, the District Director of Health, making the presentation, said the items were purchased with the directorate’s internally generated funds.

She also said the gesture was to enhance health delivery at the centre and also to facilitate the distance education programme in the area.

Mrs Baffoe-Bonnie appealed to the health workers to maintain the items to ensure its longetivity.

She advised nursing mothers against selling mosquito bed nets supplied by health authorities but rather use them as protection against mosquito bites.

Mr Owusu Frimpong, Medical Assistant in-charge of the clinic, appealed for more motorbikes to facilitate outreach programmes and a microscope to improve laboratory services. Nana Frimpong Manso III, chief of Sreso-Tinpom in the district, thanked the directorate for the gesture and pledged to release 20 hectares of land for the construction of staff quarters for the clinic.
