Ghana Embassy in Rome to launch Ghana@50

The count down to Ghana’s 50 years of Independence which falls on March 6, 2007 has begun in full earnest. Though the celebration would be focused on activities in Ghana, Ghanaians abroad and their organisations have been making feverish preparations to celebrate it in a big way.

The Ghana Embassy in Rome will launch its activities marking the event at its office on Jan 22, 2007.

Ghana’s Ambassador to Italy, His Excellency Charles Agyei-Amoama, will address participants of the Ghanaian communities in Italy which will be followed with a Press Conference. The Italian Press, some International Magazines and organisations are expected to be present.

The series of programs planned by the Embassy would be unfolded at the launching which will begin at 10:30 am.

Despite the day’s event normal services to the public at the Mission will proceed as usual.

A statement from the Embassy has called on Ghanaians resident in Italy to participate and make the celebration a success.
