Manso-Nkwanta (Ash), Jan. 11, GNA – Nana Bi-Kusi Appiah II, Omanhene of Manso-Nkwanta Traditional Area, has called for unity among the people in the District for rapid development of the area. The Omanhene, who was addressing a durbar of chiefs and people at Manso-Nkwanta, also appealed to the people to invest more in their children’s education to enable them to become useful citizens instead of using their little resources on unprofitable ventures.
On the National Health Insurance Scheme, Nana Bi-Kusi Appiah said it was one of the important policies the government had initiated and urged those who had not registered do so to enjoy affordable healthcare. At the durbar, the chiefs and people agreed to contribute a special levy of 50,000 cedis per male resident and 30,000 cedis per female resident, while non-resident male and female citizens would contribute 200,000 cedis and 100,000 cedis towards the construction of a community centre, health facility and extension of electricity.
