Drunken driver kill girl on New Year eve

Suhum, Jan. 4, GNA – A seven-year-old girl was killed when a taxicab crushed into the kiosk in which she was with her siblings during the New Year holidays.

The father of the deceased, Mr John Tagbe, told Ghana News Agency that the deceased was playing with her twin sister when the accident happened.

A spokesman for the Suhum police said the driver of the taxi was believed to be drunk and lost control of the vehicle when he negotiated a curve at top speed.

He abandoned the vehicle and is on the run.
