Government declares January 2 a public holiday

Accra, Dec. 28, GNA – Ministry of the Interior on Thursday, reminded the public that Saturday, December 30 which marks the celebration of Eid-Ul-Adha is a statutory public holiday.

In view of the fact that the day falls on Saturday, President John Agyekum Kufuor by Executive Instrument has declared Tuesday, January 2, 2007 a public holiday. A statement issued in Accra and signed by Mr Albert Kan-Dapaah, Minister of the Interior said “The day should be observed as such throughout the country.”
