Two die in motor accidents in Legon area

Accra, Dec. 27, Two people were killed in five motor accidents recorded during the Christmas in the area under the jurisdiction of the Legon Police District Command.

Speaking to GNA the District Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Michael Tecku said two lives were lost on December 26 (Boxing Day) in two separate motor accidents.

He said in the first accident a motor rider, Yiboe Killia, 32, was killed when his motorcycle collided with a truck with registration number GE 9378 W at the Trinity College Junction. Killia died on admission at the 37th Military Hospital.

In the other fatal motor accident, a 56-year-old woman, Madam Mary Korkor Blemayo died on the spot when a KIA Wagon with registration number GT 1204 W knocked her down at Adjiringanor. The vehicle was driven by one Kwesi Hansen.

DSP Tecku said both bodies had been deposited at the 37th Hospital morgue for autopsy, adding that two motor accidents occurred on Christmas Eve and another on Christmas day but were not fatal. 27 Dec. 06
