Two pastors demonstrate unity

Adaklu Have (V/R), Dec. 11, GNA – Notwithstanding the differences between the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) and the Global Evangelical Church (GPC), two pastors from these churches have demonstrated the good relations that should exist between the two churches in doing God’s work.

This was when Rev Lawrence Mesiotso of the Kalakpa Line Sub-District of the EPC and Samuel Akubi of Adaklu-Helekpe District branch of the GEC in the Adaklu Anyigbe District last Sunday joined to confirm 40 new members and baptized 22 children into the EPC.

This was at the end of a four-day fasting and prayer meeting of the Kalakpa Line Sub-District of the Church.

Rev Akubi was at the ceremony at the invitation of Rev Mesiotso. The congregation expressed its admiration for the show of cordiality demonstrated by the two pastors and expressed the hope others would emulate them.

Rev Mesiotso, who is Acting General Manager of the EP Education Unit, said church leaders should see themselves as “labourers working for the same master.”

“With unity and love for one another the lost image of the clergy may be redeemed”.

Rev. Emmanuel Agbeti, in a sermon on the theme; “Hope for a better future”, called for steadfastness among Christians in difficult situations so that their endurance would extol Christian virtues. He said Christians were under obligation to use their God given resources and talents wisely and invest them in the education of their children.

Rev. Agbeti also advised Christians to desist from the “get-rich-quick” attitude that has eaten deep into the morale fiber of society. An appeal for funds in aid of musical instruments yielded five million cedis.
