Patronage of GT payphones has reduced-Director

Daboase (W/R), Dec 8, GNA – Mr John Appiah Boateng, the Western Regional Director of Ghana Telcom (GT), has said patronage of the company’s payphones in the cities had gone down because of upsurge in the use of mobile phones.

He was speaking at a public hearing of 2006-2009 Medium Term Development Plan of the Mpohor Wassa East District Assembly at Daboase. Mr. Boateng said the company has, therefore, decided to establish more GSM payphones in the rural areas and upgrade mobile phone services in the cities.

He said the district is projected into the company’s development plans and would benefit from future expansion programmes.
