MP attributes increasing HIV/AIDS cases to unfaithfulness

Agona (Ash) Dec 8,GNA- The Member of Parliament (MP) for Afigya Sekyere constituency, Mr. David Henric Yeboah has attributed increasing cases of HIV/AIDS to unfaithfulness in marriages.

Speaking to the GNA in an interview on Friday at Agona, Mr. Yeboah observed that unfaithfulness was as a result of married couples denying themselves their sexual rights. He said people should openly discuss sexual problems in order to check the spread of HIV/AIDS.

The MP said the rate at which the pandemic was spreading could have been controlled if spouses were faithful to each other and lived according to Biblical principles.

He called on the Church to take an active role in supplementing efforts by organizations that were involved in HIV/AIDS awareness activities by teaching people about good morals.

Mr.Yeboah noted that the development of the nation lies in the hands of Ghanaians and urged individuals to have a positive attitude towards work, if the country was to develop.

He stated that people from other countries might help develop Ghana but it was the duty of citizens to work extra hard to ensure that, they developed their country.

“Government can come up with good policies but the people that implement are not doing enough, thereby making the country being underdeveloped,’

The MP therefore advised Ghanaians to change their attitude towards work to accelerate development.

Mr. Yeboah said there was the need to change people’s mindset if the country was to develop hence the need for everyone to do a self-search to establish what contribution they were making towards the country’s development.
