French Navy ship arrives next week

Accra, Dec. 6, GNA 96 A French Landing ship (LSD) Foudre would dock at the Tema Harbour on Monday December 12 for a routine call to Ghana in the course of her regular missions along the West Coast of Africa.

A statement from the French Embassy in Accra on Wednesday said the purpose of the visit, which ends on December 15, was to reinforce the existing ties between the French and the Ghanaian naval forces. The ship under the direction of Commander Nicolas BEZOU has a crew of 275 sailors.

The main role of the ship is to land forces by amphibious or aerial ways.

During her visit the ship would hold a sea exercise with the Ghana Navy.
