Re-opening of UST postponed

Kumasi (Ashanti), 29th September 99 – The re-opening of the University of Science and Technology (UST), Kumasi for the 1999/2000 academic year, has been postponed indefinitely.

According to a release issued in Kumasi today and signed by Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, the Registrar, a new date for both freshmen and continuing students will be announced in due course.

Re-sit examinations will, however, continue, the release stated.

The release said the decision to postpone the re-opening of the university was taken by the academic board of the UST at its 235 special meeting held on Monday, September 27 as a result of developments affecting the re-opening of the university.
