Juaso (Ash), Oct 18, GNA – A 32-year-old farmer was on Tuesday sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for having anal sex with his nine-year-old son at Atwedie near Juaso in the Asante-Akim South District.
Kofi Seth, who was charged with three counts of sodomy, assault and causing harm, pleaded not guilty to all the charges. Mr Jacob Boon, the presiding judge, said the convict did not deserve to live in a decent society after subjecting his own son to such inhuman treatment.
Police Chief Inspector Joseph Amoabeng said Seth lived in the same room with his son at Atwedie.
In July, the victim was not seen in the vicinity and when neighbours enquired his whereabouts Seth could not give any good explanation.
A friend of Seth later detected that the victim had been detained in the father’s room and informed the assembly member who told the Juaso police.
When the police went to Seth’s room, the son was found lying on a bed and tied with a rope with blade wounds all over his body. The victim revealed that Seth had on several occasions had sex with him through the anus and that he inflicted blade wounds on his body anytime he resisted the act.
