Kufuor meets president of Italian senate

(AGI) – Rome, Oct. 16 – This afternoon, the president of the Senate Franco Marini received the President of the Republic of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor, who in on official visit in Italy.

During the cordial talk, issues of peace and the shared commitment of the two countries in the most delicate international missions were discussed, as well as stability and democracy Mediterranean area, the relationship between Ghana and Italy, and in particular the collaboration between the Ghana Parliament and the Italian Republic’s Senate.

The President Marini gave a special thanks to Ghana and its president for the strengthening of the contribution in the peace mission in Lebanon. At the end of the meeting, the President Kufuor visited Palazzo Giustiniani and the Room in which the Republican Constitution was signed on December 27, 1947.
