Mankessim to get a community centre

Mankessim (C/R), Sept 23, GNA – A sod cutting ceremony has been performed at Mankessim to mark the commencement of work on a community centre complex for the town.

The project estimated at 120 million cedis and to be funded through levies and assistance from the MP, comprise a day care centre, a library, a conference hall, a first aid post and play ground for children.

Mr Jacob Arthur, Member of Parliament for Mfantseman West who performed the sod cutting called on Ghanaians to see the development of the country as a collective responsibility and not as a duty for a few individuals.

He called for a good working relationship between the people and their assembly members and MPs for the rapid development of their communities.

The MP urged the people of Mankessim to bury their differences and unite to improve their living conditions. In another development a public forum has been held in the town on a number of issues.

The MP led officials of the Ghana Education Service, Ghana National Fire Service and Ghana Telecom to explain issues about their outfits to the people.
