Only two women elected to the Adansi South assembly

New Edubiase (Ash), Oct 12, GNA – Only two out of the 19 women who contested the recent district assembly elections in the Adansi South district of Ashanti won their seats. Mr Kyereme Siaw, the Deputy District Returning Officer of the Electoral Commission (EC), who made this known to the GNA, however, could not give out their names.

He said only four out of 60 assembly members were able to retain their seats in the elections.

Mr Siaw described the elections in the district as very peaceful, free and fair and commended the supervisors and other officials during the elections for their efforts which ensured the successful elections. 12 Oct. 06
