Northen Ghanaian In Toronto Donate

… MEDICAL EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES OVER 500 MILLION CEDIS TO HOSPITALS IN THE UPPER EAST, UPPER WEST AND NORTHERN REGION.
Ghanaians from the three Northern regions who are residing in Toronto, Canada have donated medical equipment and supplies worth over 500 million cedis to hospitals in the three regions (Upper East, Upper West & Northern Region). The project was implemented under the umbrella of the Northern Ghana Cultural Society of Ontario, ZUMUNTA and Ghanaian Muslims Association of Canada. Funding for the project came from individual contributions by members of the three organizations, and a fundraising event in Toronto.

These organizations have members who are Northerners, non-Northerners and non-Ghanaians. Donations were received from Ghanaians, non-Ghanaians, Ghanaian Associations, Ghanaian and Non Ghanaian business establishments and non-profit organizations.

Recognizing the difficulties facing Ghana health services, especially in the three Northern regions was the motivation behind the donation. We hope this would be an example worthy of emulating by other Northern Ghanaians living outside Ghana. The organizing committee for this project would like to thank organizations and individuals in Canada and Ghana who contributed in various ways to be make this project a success.
