EC to hold run-off assembly election in Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa

Breman Asikuma (C/R), Sept. 30, GNA – The Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District office of the Electoral Commission is negotiating with the Central Regional office of the Commission to organize a run-off for two assembly members who tied during the recent District Assembly and Unity Committee elections.

Mr Isaac Adjari and Mr Charles Kofi Bronyi, who contested in the Bonda Kroom/Apabam electoral area, polled 471 votes each, a top district official told the Ghana News Agency at Breman on Thursday. He said a report about the run-off had been forwarded to the Commission’s headquarters for a date to be fixed for the election. In related development, only three of the 16 women who contested Assembly elections in the Awutu-Effutu-Senya district, have won, the local Electoral office said,
