Government to construct highway linking Western, Upper West regions

Asumura (B/A) Sept 27, GNA – The government is to construct a highway linking Tarkwa in the Western region to Hamile in the Upper West Region

through Akrodie and Asumura in Asunafo North district of Brong-Ahafo. Mr. Robert Sarfo Mensah, Member of Parliament for Asunafo North, who disclosed this at Goaso said the highway would further facilitate trade links between business people in the Southern sector of the country and their counterparts in the northern regions. Speaking at a send-off service in honour of Pastor Ebenezer Addo, district pastor of the Church of Pentecost at Asumura, the MP said the project was in line with the government’s commitment to accelerate the country’s socio-economic development.

He advised the congregation to honour their tax obligations to ensure the rapid development of the area and expressed gratitude for the church’s immense contributions to the educational sector. On the National Health Insurance Scheme, Mr. Sarfo Mensah reiterated it was meant to help reduce poverty and improve human resource development and urged those who had not registered to do so to ensure quality health delivery.

The MP advised parents to take advantage of the introduction of the capitation grant and enrol their children in school.

In a speech read for him, Apostle Kwaku Kenneth Confidence Kagipor, Asunafo area head of the church, urged the congregation to lead exemplary lives for others to emulate.
