High Commissioner Annan dies

Accra, Sept. 14, GNA – Rear-Admiral Thomas Kwesi Annan (rtd), Ghana’s High Commissioner to India, has died, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Tuesday. Foreign Minister James Victor Gbeho told newsmen in Accra, that the High Commissioner died on Monday in New Delhi after a short illness.

He was 57. Mr Gbeho said arrangements were being made to bring the body home for burial. Rear-Admiral Annan, a former Commander of the Ghana Navy, was appointed High Commissioner to India in October 1997. He was married with children.
