Regulate ‘phone-in programmes’ on FMS- urges MDI Prophet.

Mozano (C/R), Sept 9, GNA- Radio stations have been urged to regulate their phone-in programmes because some statements from contributors do not augur well for national peace and stability.

The call was made by the head of Musama Disco Christo Church (MDCC), Prophet Miritaiah Jona Jehu-Appiah, at a durbar to climax the 75th annual peace festival of the church at Mozano, in the Central Region Prophet Jehu-Appiah expressed disappointment at the way people abused “the freedom of speech as enshrined in the 1992 constitution by making unguarded statements, which could endanger our fragile democracy and disturb the peace we are enjoying”.

The Prophet expressed the church’s disapproval of a radio programme presented recently by Madam Grace Omaboe popularly known as Maame Odokono in which members of the church were castigated for wearing copper rings.

He said the doors of the church were opened to anyone who does not understand its doctrines to seek clarification. He cautioned members, especially priests, to lead exemplary lives to enable them to win more souls for Christ. Nana Kwa Donkor iii, Chief of Gomoa Eshiem, commended the church for blending religion with tradition and for promoting peace in the area.
