Lecturer donates books

Nchiraa (B/A), Sept 9, GNA- Mr Badu Danso, a Ghanaian lecturer in the United States, has donated assorted books worth about six million cedis to the Nchiraa community. Mr Danso, a native of Nchiraa, said the donation was his personal contribution towards improving education in the town.

He announced plans to seek assistance from United States benevolent organisations to help establish a vocational centre in the community. . Mr Danso urged parents to team up with teachers in the education of their children. Mr Kwaku Amoah-Tutu, area council chairman, commended Mr Danso for his generous offer and urged citizens both residents and non-residents to emulate

Mr Danso. Mr Amoah-Tutu said the success of the education reforms programme depended greatly on the commitment of stakeholders and added, “the government appreciates the efforts of communities and individuals who promote education among the people”.

He announced that the community had arranged a classroom in the Islamic Junior Secondary School as the temporary library for the students.
