Dormaa Hospital marks 50th anniversary

Dormaa-Ahenkro, Aug 30, GNA – The Dormaa Hospital has launched its 50th anniversary celebration at Dormaa-Ahenkro with a target to de-worm 2,000 basic school children in the Dormaa District free of charge. Workers of the hospital and 13 groups in Dormaa-Ahenkro held a two-hour brass band float through the main street of the town to launch the jubilee under the theme “60 years of quality healthcare delivery-the road ahead”.

Dr David Adjapong, the Acting General Manager of the hospital, said the golden jubilee was also targeted at mobilising funds for the construction of an emergency ward.

Other targets of the anniversary include the construction of additional staff bungalows for workers and the provision of fenced wall to ensure security of staff.

Dr Adjapong said apart from free medical care for school children, there would be intensive health education on radio, fun games and a grand durbar of chiefs and people of Dormaa-Ahenkro in November. He appealed to individuals, cooperate organisations and philanthropists to support the hospital in cash and kind.
