Two Cocaine Carriers Arrested At KIA

Two spected drug couriers believed to be Nigerians have been arrested at the Kotoka International Airport for allegedly possessing narcotic drugs. dwin Okeke Onyebuchi, 32 and Mmakaogu Nonso, 26, were arrested at about 9.30 pm on Wednesday, while going through departure formalities to board a flight to Athens, Greece.

Briefing the Times in Accra yesterday, Mr. Mark Ewuntomah, acting Deputy Executive Secretary of the Narcotics Control Board, told the Times that officials of NACOB on duty at KIA became suspicious because of the demeanor of the two men and arrested them.

Mr Ewuntomah said they were put under observation during which period Onyebuchi expelled 64 pellets of whitish substance suspected to be cocaine, and Nonso expelled 55 pellets. hen the two were questioned they allegedly admitted carrying the narcotic substances but said that the drugs were given to them by someone to be delivered to another person in Greece. hey would, however, not mention the names. Mr. Ewuntomah said the substances would be forwarded to the Ghana Standards Board for examination and for the total volume to be determined.
