Food vendors and bar operators undergo screening in Atwima-Nwabiagya

Abuakwa (Ash), Aug 21, GNA – The Abuakwa sub-district of environmental health in conjunction with the Atwima-Nwabiagya District Assembly has embarked on a screening exercise for food vendors and drinking bar operators in the area. Food vendors and bar operators from 10 communities in the area would be screened under the exercise.

Mr Austin Dubick, Abuakwa sub-district Environmental Health Officer told the Ghana News Agency that the exercise was aimed at checking the spread of infections to the general public who patronise their services.

He advised all food vendors and bar operators to actively participate in the exercise since those who refused to be screened will be dealt with, in accordance with the law. Communities that will be covered under the exercise are Abuakwa, Manhyia, Atwima-Koforidua, Agogo, Asenemaso and Akropong.
