Huni Valley District Pentecost Church Mission House inaugurated

Huni Valley(W/R), Aug. 21, GNA – A 700 million cedis mission house for the Huni Valley District Pentecost Church was inaugurated at Huni Valley on Sunday.

The building comprised seven bedrooms, two sitting rooms, dining hall and a lobby with all utilities.

Mr Albert Kwaku Obeng, Member of Parliament for Prestea Huni Valley said, churches had important role to play in the promotion of democracy in the country, adding; “Growth of the church is growth of democracy. The church cannot isolate itself from good governance”. He commended the Church of Pentecost for its organizational skills and its contribution to the socio-economic development of the country through the payment of taxes to the government. Mr Obeng called on the church to intensify its education on drug abuse and trafficking of cocaine in the country, which could destroy the youth.

He said upbringing of the youth through counselling and the word of God could make the youth grow strong spiritually and physically and refrain from indulging in social vices in the society.

Mr. Emmanuel Kwesi Ayensu, Wassa West District Chief Executive condemned the attack on Apostle Dr. Michael Kwabena Ntumy, Chairman of the Church of Pentecost and said, “Such a man of God is not an asset to the Church of Pentecost alone but the entire nation.”

He reminded the people especially those who had not registered with the District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme to register in order to access affordable quality health care.

Mr. Ayensu reiterated the call on parents to send their children to school especially the girl-child.

Pastor Michael Badu of Aboso Pentecost church, in a sermon said, the house was a refuge for everyone to seek freedom and peace.
