Nana Sarpong relieved of chieftaincy portfolio

Nana Akuoko Sarpong has been relieved of his responsibility as Presidential Staffer for Chieftaincy Affairs. An official statement, issued in Accra on Friday by the President’s Secretary, Mr Jimmy Ammissah, said the decision is to enable Nana Sarpong concentrate on his other responsibility as chairman of the National Commission on Culture. It was further noted that the decision to relief Nana Akuoko, who is also the paramount Chief of Agogo, formed part of measures being taken to streamline aspects of the government machinery. Nana Akuoko has served in various positions since the PNDC era including the Health Ministry.
