Some 200 children sensitised on malaria prevention

Adeiso (E/R), Aug 5, GNA – About 200 school children from Adeiso in the Upper West Akyem District, have benefited from a two-day anti-malaria campaign” organised by three Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) in the District.

The NGOs are All Youth Farmers Association, United Nations Association, Ghana branch, and ‘Nyame Tumi So’. The school children were educated on the effective use of treated mosquito nets, burying of empty tins and keeping of the environment clean.

Mr Jarry Bismark Wover, Chairman of All Youth Farmers Association, said there was the need to educate children to live in a clean environment to avoid contracting malaria.

Mr Stephen Okyere, General Secretary of the Association, said the exercise would be extended to other parts of the district, to ensure that malaria was eradicated from the District.
