Some 128 candidates vie for seats at Hohoe

Hohoe, Aug 4, GNA – Some 128 candidates including 29 women have filed papers to contest seats in the Hohoe District Assembly in elections slated for September 12, Mr David Acheampong, Hohoe District Electoral Officer, told the GNA in elections.

He said the elections would be held in 40 electoral areas and that the remaining eight electoral areas had their candidates returned unopposed.

They are Tafi-Mador, Kledjo-Atabu, Lolobi-Hunyasem, Alavanyo-Wudidi.

Others are Alavanyo-Deme/Dzogbedze, Leklebi-Duga/Dafor, Nyagbo-Sroe and Likpe-Mate electoral areas. Mr Acheampong appealed to contestants to obey the rules governing elections and avoid inflaming passions when campaigning.
