DCE inaugurates projects

Afreseni (Ash), July 28, GNA – Mr Kwaku Obeng Boateng, Ahafo-Ano South District Chief Executive, has inaugurated a number of projects in the district.

The projects, totalling over one billion cedis were a 12-seater aqua-privy toilet at Abesewa and a six-unit classroom block with urinal and toilet each for Afreseni, Betinko and Sabronum-Camp. They were funded through the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), HIPC Fund and the District Assemblies Common Fund. Addressing the people at separate durbars to inaugurate the projects, the DCE urged the people to take active interest in the impending district assembly elections.

He said this would promote local government administration and also sustain the nation’s democratic process. Mr Boateng called on the people to register with the National Health Insurance Scheme and pay their premium to easily access health facilities when they fall sick.

He stressed the need for parents to provide the basic school needs of their children since the capitation grant has reduce their burden of educating their children.
