Denmark NGO Assists Ho Central

Ho, July 23, GNA – Deprived Villages Support Programme, a Denmark Non-Governmental Organization based in Ghana has donated medical equipment and some computers worth 400 million cedis to the Ho Central Constituency.

The items comprised 40-remote control hospital beds with mattresses, 29 pieces of wheel chairs, 40 relaters and a number of personal computers.

The rest are 200 school chairs and 40 tables, two children’s bicycles, a tricycle and four sewing machines.

The items, which were in response to a request made by Captain George Nfodjo, (Rtd.) Member of Parliament for the constituency would go to support health facilities in the constituency.

Mr. Daniel Datsomor, International Coordinator of the NGO, who presented the items said the initiative was to support the poor and health facilities in providing quality care for patients. He stated that patients require comfortable environment for their quick recovery and expressed the readiness of his organization to extend the assistance to other health facilities in the country. Captain Nfodjo, who received the items expressed gratitude to the NGO and said the items would be shared equally among all the public and private health facilities in the constituency.

He stated that the items, especially the medical equipment came at the right time when the Municipal Hospital was in dire need of such items to be able to keep its systems operating normally. Captain Nfodjo said with about half a billion cedis share of GETFUND and HIPC fund, the constituency would establish a computer school before the commencement of next academic year for the benefit of all Junior Secondary School leavers.

He said the computers and furniture, which had been donated by the NGO, would therefore go to complement the computer project.
