Kukurantumi Muslim community embarks on development projects

Kukurantumi (E/R), July 19, GNA – The Muslim Community at Akim Kukurantumi in the East Akim District, has raised 5.2 million cedis for school projects.

The projects included the renovation of a six-unit classroom block, a two-unit early childhood development school and the rehabilitation of the toilets for the institutions.

The Community Project Officer, Mallam Bashiru Fuseni, briefing the Ghana News Agency at Kukurantuimi on Monday, explained that the projects were to enhance teaching and learning at the basic level. He stated that some pupils had resorted to truancy because the school atmosphere was not conducive to learning, especially, during the rainy season when they have to abandon classes.

Mallam Fuseni said the community would start work on a three-unit Junior Secondary School (JSS) classroom block through voluntary contributions and fund raising activities.

He appealed to non-resident citizens for support to complete the projects.
