Bibiani Police refute rumours on ritual murders

Bibiani (W/R), June 27, GNA – The Bibiani District Police Command has refuted rumours that recent deaths recorded in the District had ritual undertones.

A statement issued at Bibiani in the Western Region and signed by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Felix Toya, District Police Commander, said pathology reports on all deceased persons in recent times, who either committed suicide or killed through motor accidents revealed that their parts were intact.

It said that the Police had the capacity to deal with every situation professionally and cited a recent case in which the District Command arrested two final-year students of the Mpasatia Secondary/Technical School in the Atwima-Mponua district of Ashanti for attempting to sell three students for 100 million cedis. The Command cautioned those peddling the falsehood, which could tarnish the image of the Police to stop.

It appealed to people with information that would enhance the work of the Police to contact the Command and gave the assurance that they would be protected and their confidentiality maintained.
