ACCRA, July 22 (Reuters) – Ghana Airways said on Thursday it had dismissed eight middle-level employees for misappropriation of funds and the use of fraudulent documents for obtaining tickets.

“The dismissals are to deter staff from engaging in similar acts. The board and management will continue with their bid to purge the airline of such activities,” the company said in a statement.

The government recently announced it was looking for a strategic investor to take a majority holding in the national carrier.
