Motorist fined 600,000 cedis for traffic offence

Cape Coast June 23, GNA- A circuit court at Cape Coast on Friday fined Bob Stephen, a motorist, 600,000 cedis for various traffic offences. Stephen who pleaded guilty to riding an unregistered motor, riding without a valid license and road worthy certificate and riding an uninsured motor, would go to prison for 60 days in default.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Hope Azasoo told the court, presided over by Mr Mustapha Ahmed Logoh that last Friday, the Central Region police command embarked on an exercise to clampdown on the activities of recalcitrant riders who flout road traffic regulations in the Cape Coast municipality. He said during the exercise, Stephen was arrested and it was detected that his motor was unregistered and uninsured and he also had no valid riding license and road worthy certificate.
