Odikro present study materials to pupils

Gomoa Mprumem (C/R), June 7, GNA – Dr Brafo Owom X, Odikro of Gomoa Mprumem and currently a Professor at the University of Aaron and First Guyahage Falls United Methodist, both based in Ohio, United States (US) have presented school supplies worth millions of cedis to children of Mprumem in Gomoa District of the Central Region.

The items included pens; pencils; crayons; exercise books and textbooks.

Nana Idan, the Obatan of the town, who made the presentation on behalf of the donors, said the gesture was part of their humanitarian support towards the improvement of education in the area. He said, the development of every country depended on the quality of education offered to its people and called on all Ghanaians to contribute their quota to supplement what the Government was putting into the education industry. Nana Idan urged the teachers to be patient and to have time for the children and to equip them with the needed knowledge and skills to be good future leaders.

He advised the pupils to concentrate on their studies in order that Mprumem and the country as a whole would benefit from them. He appealed to citizens of the area to follow the examples of Nana Brafo Owam X and his wife, who had already provided infrastructure and other educational materials to enhance teaching and learning in the area.

Miss Felicia Owu the Head Teacher of Gomoa Mpumem Methodist School, receiving the items thanked the donors for the concern they had for the children in the area and said the items would be put to good use.
