Dzamesi inaugurates health committee

Ho, June 02, GNA – A nine-member committee was on Friday commissioned to administer the admission of candidates into health institutions in the Volta Region.

The Committee, whose terms of reference is to recommend candidates for admission into health institutions in the region, has Mr Kofi Dzamesi, the Volta Regional Minister, as the Chairman. Other members include the Ho Municipal Chief Executive, Jasikan District Chief Executive, representing the 15 district assemblies in the region.

It also includes the Regional Director of the Ghana Health Service, Chairman of the regional health committee and the Regional Director of the Ghana Education Service.

The rest are the chairman of the Ghana Regional Nurses Association, principals of the Nurses Training School, School of Hygiene, Community Health School with the Regional Coordinating Director as Secretary. In an address the Regional Minister Kofi Dzamesi, said the formation of the committee was in accordance with a directive by Professor Agyeman-Badu Akorsah, Director General of the Ghana Health Service, that each regional minister should form a committee to handle admission into health training institutions in their regions. He urged members to consider brilliant but needy candidates who would be recommended from the fifteen districts for sponsorship.
