Atwima Mponua launches taskforce on bird flu

Nyinahin (Ash), May 11, GNA – A taskforce to educate the people and poultry farmers in the Atwima Mponua District on the Avian influenza (Bird flu) has been launched at Nyinahin on Tuesday. Mr Wilberforce Owusu-Ansah, the District Chief Executive, is the chairman of the taskforce that will be on alert for signs of the disease in the district to stop its spread.

Mr Owusu-Ansah told the GNA that the people had already been informed to report all unexplained deaths of birds promptly to the taskforce. He appealed to veterinary officers to pay regular visits to poultry farms in the district.
