Cocoa Affairs Courts to resume sitting

Accra, May 9, GNA – Sittings at the Cocoa Affairs Courts, which were suspended following the collapse of the structure last month, would resume on Wednesday, May 10, the Judicial Service announced on Tuesday. The sittings of the Courts, also known as the 28th February Road Courts, would, however, resume at the section of the structure that has been declared safe.

Other courts that could not sit at the Cocoa Affairs would be temporarily relocated at courts outside the premises, the statement said.

It said the directive was a result of the presentation of a report by a team of experts made up of representatives of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, Directorate of Engineering Service of the Ghana Armed Forces, the Ghana National Fire Service, PWD-Prestige and Avangarde Designs, an architectural engineering firm, which inspected the premises of the court structure.

The statement listed where some courts had been temporarily relocated.
