Vice President supports Moslem community at Bantama

Kumasi, May 07, GNA – Alhaji Aliu Mahama, the Vice President, on Saturday donated some building materials worth 13.5 million cedis to the Moslem community at Bantama in the Kumasi Metropolis towards the completion of their mosque.

The building materials included 100 bags of cement, iron rods, gravels, stones and sand.

Madam Cecilia Dapaah, the Member of Parliament for Bantama and Deputy Minister of Works, Housing and Water Resources who made the donation on behalf of the Vice-President, said it was in fulfilment of his pledge to support them.

She said the government would support communities that initiated their own developmental projects to improve their living conditions. Madam Dapaah donated one million cedis to the Bantama Moslem community towards the completion of the mosque. Alhaji Abdul Karim, head of Asante Moslems at Bantama who received the gift, thanked the donors. 07 May 07
