Hospital bans man for harassing female patients

Techiman (B/A) April 13, GNA – Authorities at the Holy Family Hospital in Techiman have declared a 34 year old man, Ibrahim Sorbgou, persona non grata at the hospital for sexually harassing female patients.

Sorbgou from Gburu in the Upper West Region but domiciled at Jema, near Kintampo was admitted at the Hospital in June last year when an unidentified vehicle knocked him down at Jema.

Mr. Antwi Boasiako, Personnel Manager of the Hospital who disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency said when he was discharged about six months ago he could not pay his bill of more than 10 million cedis but the hospital management allowed him to go. He said Sorbgou after his discharge clandestinely found his way into the hospital hostel and started harassing the women there for sex.

The personnel manager said Sorbgou’s behaviour came to the notice of the hospital authorities and he was consequently picked from his hideout and handed over to the police. Chief Inspector Sampson Y. Jebuni at the police charge office confirmed the story and said his relatives in Techiman had arranged to transport him back to Jema. 13 April 06
