Ministry orders firm to return vehicle to Ketu Assembly

Denu, April 07, GNA – The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD) has ordered the management of a Ghanaian Engineering Consultancy Firm to handover a Toyota Hilux Pick-up in its custody to the Ketu District Assembly.

The vehicle was acquired by the Ministry from the Assembly’s Common Fund for use by Comptran Engineering Services Limited, engaged by the Government for the construction of the 4.1 billion cedis Aflao-Market Junction-Beach road and Market Junction-Hospital road.

Under the contract agreement, the company was expected to hand over the vehicle to the assembly after completing its work about two years ago but refused despite interventions by the Ministry and assembly. Mr Justice Cudjoe, Ketu District Chief Executive disclosed this in an answer to a question by Mr Godwin Tay, Assembly Member for Sepenukope Electoral Area in Aflao at the Ketu District Peoples’ Assembly at Denu on Wednesday.

Mr Kofi Dzamesi, Volta Regional Minister urged the people to have confidence in Government policies such as the Capitation grant and the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

He appealed to the people to expose health workers whose conduct might affect the smooth implementation of the scheme.
