Regent University holds Leukaemia Walk

Accra, April 2, GNA – The Regent University College of Science and Technology on Saturday, held a walk in Accra to raise funds to support the Danny White and Ivory Bedford Trust.

The 20-kilometre walk, which was led by Reverend Professor Emmanuel Larbi, President of the University, started from the premises of the University at Mataheko to Zongo Junction onwards to the Obetsebi-Lamptey Circle to Kwame Nkrumah Circle through to McCarthy Hills and then back to the University campus.

About 300 students took part in the event which was also aimed at creating awareness on the leukaemia disease (cancer of the blood). Mr Emmanuel Hasford, Director of Education Support Services of the University called on the students to ensure that combined their education with sports so as to totally develop their body and mind. He said the University would hold a massive clean-up exercise on Saturday, April 22 and called on the students to take active interest in the activities.

The walk was jointly sponsored by Benko Hospitex Limited, Voltic Ghana Limited, Kingdom Herbal Centre, Blue skies Limited and Prospective Ghana Limited
